1 / 2022 Fender 'Player Series' Stratocaster

My main guitar used for song writing and recording. It's an incredibly powerful and versatile instrument. It featured heavily on the Chapter II album and was the main guitar used on the upcoming (MGPP) Act III album, as well as the Mr Sweet album, Parallelogram - both coming soon.

2 / 2017 Fender - Squier 'Contemporary' Telecaster

My first ever guitar. That's right, this one's been with me since the very beginning. This guitar is an absolute beast and boy, can it sing! Mainly used for 'heavier' tracks and lead guitar solos.

3 / Gear4Music 'Knoxville Deluxe' 12-String T-type

A recent purchase. Yet to be featured on any recordings. For the price, it's an incredibly good, 'value for money' affordable guitar.

4 / 2000 Fender - Squier 'Standard' Precision Bass Special

A real workhorse of an instrument. This guitar has received many modifications by myself since I purchased it, second-hand. This has featured on almost every MGPP release so far, and also been used for several short gigs in the past few years.

5/ 2019 Vintage V501-12

Used on songs such as 'Late Nights' and 'Beings' from the Chapter II album, this acoustic 12-string is a lovely sounding instrument.

6/ Encore LH255

Bought second-hand for an incredibly low price and extensively modified by myself, this guitar features a lot on the new MGPP album, Act III and also on the Mr Sweet album, Parallelogram. It was also used to record the song 'Flowers In The Sun'.

7/ 1985 Yamaha DX27 Digital FM Synthesiser

The more affordable, younger sibling to the almighty Yamaha DX7 from 1983, this '80s FM (Frequency Modulation) synthesiser is one of the signature sounds of MGPP. Until recently, this synth was the only keyboard used for song writing and recording on MGPP releases.

8/ Behringer 'Model D' Analogue, Monophonic Synthesiser

Inspired by one of the holy grails of analogue synthesis, this affordable clone does everything the original does, with some additional modern-day add-ons. It's great for both lead and bass lines.

9/ Behringer JT-4000 Micro Synthesiser

This is a fantastic little synth, for what it is. It has the ability to create a lot of those luscious, warm analogue sounds that we all know and love.

10/ M-Audio Keystation 32 MkIII MIDI Keyboard

Used to control the Behringer JT-4000, as well as virtual plugins of the Korg M1 and Roland D-50.

11/ SubZero Six Channel Mixer

This is the nerve centre of every recording! Everything that's mic'd up goes into here. All synthesisers and some guitars are recorded, direct inject into here as well.

12/ Marshall G10 MkII Solid State Amplifier

This thing is an absolute beast! Although it's small, it can produce to huge, heavy guitar tones! My guitars are plugged into here most of the time. Though occasionally, they'll be recorded direct inject into the SubZero mixer, if I'm after a certain sound.

13/ Ampeg BA108 Solid State Bass Amplifier

Another beast! My main method of recording bass guitar, is to have this amp mic'd up from the centre of the speaker with a dynamic instrument microphone.

14/ Pearl 'Export Series' Drums w/Sabian Cymbals

For those who don't know, I'm also a drummer (I had drum lessons when I was at school) and I play drums on almost all of my songs. This kit began life as a basic 5-piece Pearl drum kit, but over time, it's gradually grown with extra drums (left over from a junior drum kit that I had when I was a child) and various percussion objects.

15/ Dunlop - MXR Phase 90 Pedal

A modern, Dunlop incarnation of the classic MXR Phase 90 phaser, used by countless musicians over the years.

16/ Zoom MultiStomp MS-50G Pedal

This is my main effects unit for my guitars (delays, distortions, choruses, etc.). I also used this with my DX27 synthesiser for a long time, but I seldom use it with that these days.

17/ Fender Hammertone Reverb Pedal

An incredibly atmospheric reverb unit, although I've seldom used it since I received it.

18/ Electro-Harmonix Wailer Wah Pedal

This has recently seen a lot of use during the recording sessions for the new Mr Sweet album, Parallelogram, as well as rehearsals for our shows. It was also used a bit on the new MGPP album, Act III, notably on the songs 'Mrs. Soane' and 'Crystalized'.

19/ Daphon Volume Pedal

I'm not entirely familiar with this brand. I bought this pedal second hand at a Cash Converters pawn shop in Salisbury, Wiltshire a few years ago. (The same place where I bought my Squier bass and Encore guitar)

20/ SubZero SZM-10 Dynamic Microphone

An incredibly versatile microphone, used to record the majority of my various instruments.

21/ Gear4Music M1 Vocal Microphone

A very basic vocal mic. It does what it says on the tin, basically.

22/ Korg Volca Beats Drum Machine

Used on songs such as 'Secret Wings' and 'Lip Dances (On The District Line').

23/ Marlin ML-R Ukulele

I don't know much about this, either, although I remember it being bought in a toy shop of all places and belonged to my sister, originally. It was used on the instrumental section from 'Beings', called 'The Squad'.
